1. Trading Involves the Risk of Losing Your Entire Investment

Cryptoasset markets can be highly volatile and prices may move substantially over very short periods.

You may lose some or all of the funds allocated to trading.

You should only trade with funds that you can afford to lose and should consider whether cryptoasset trading is appropriate for your circumstances before using the Service.

Cryptoassets generally do not carry the same protections as traditional regulated financial products. In particular, you should not assume that your trading losses will be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or that you will have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) in relation to a particular activity or provider.

2. Trend Hound Is BETA Software

Trend Hound is under active development.

The Service may contain defects, errors, inaccurate data, unexpected behaviour, interruptions or other technical limitations. Features may change, be unavailable or be discontinued.

In a live trading environment, a technical problem may result in an order being delayed, rejected, duplicated, partially executed, incorrectly configured or not executed at all.

You should understand and accept these risks before connecting an exchange account or enabling automated trading.

3. Automated Trading Requires Active Risk Management

Automated strategies can place orders without obtaining additional confirmation from you for each individual transaction.

Losses can occur rapidly as a result of:

• incorrect strategy parameters;
• configuration errors;
• unexpected market conditions;
• sudden price movements;
• insufficient liquidity;
• spread changes;
• slippage;
• exchange or API interruptions;
• network latency;
• connectivity failures;
• data errors;
• software defects; or
• interactions between multiple systems or strategies.

You are responsible for configuring, supervising and managing your live trading sessions appropriately.

Do not assume that an automated strategy will behave as expected merely because it performed successfully in testing or simulation.

4. Maintain Independent Control of Your Exchange Account

When connecting an exchange account to Trend Hound:

Withdrawal and asset-transfer permissions must be disabled.

Your connected API credentials should never have permission to withdraw or transfer assets away from your exchange account.

You must also retain the ability to disable or revoke the relevant API credentials directly through the exchange.

If you believe that a connected strategy, API connection or trading session is behaving unexpectedly, you must take appropriate action to disable the connection, including revoking the relevant API credentials directly through the exchange where appropriate.

Trend Hound does not control your exchange account or guarantee the operation of the exchange's own account controls.

5. Exchanges and Third Parties

Trend Hound relies on third-party infrastructure, including cryptocurrency exchanges, market-data feeds, networks, hosting providers and other technology services.

An exchange may experience outages, latency, API failures, liquidity problems, account restrictions, security incidents, asset freezes, delistings or insolvency.

A third-party failure may therefore affect your trading even where Trend Hound is operating normally.

Your funds are held by the exchange or other third-party provider with which you maintain your account, not by Trend Hound.

6. Market Data May Be Inaccurate or Delayed

Market information displayed through Trend Hound may originate from third-party exchanges or data sources.

Market data may be delayed, incomplete, stale, interrupted or inaccurate.

Execution prices may differ materially from prices displayed in the Service because market conditions can change between the time information is received, displayed and acted upon.

You should not assume that a displayed price represents the price at which an order will be executed.

7. Orders Are Not Guaranteed

Trend Hound does not guarantee that an order or trading instruction will:

• reach the relevant exchange;
• be accepted by the exchange;
• be executed;
• be executed in full;
• be executed at a particular price;
• be executed within a particular period; or
• remain active for the period you intended.

An order may be rejected, cancelled, partially filled or executed under market conditions materially different from those existing when the instruction was generated.

8. Backtests, Simulations and Analytics Are Hypothetical

Backtests, simulations, forecasts, signals, indicators, screeners, statistics and other analytical outputs are provided for informational and analytical purposes.

Results may depend upon assumptions, historical data, modelling choices, execution assumptions, fees, liquidity assumptions and other factors that may differ materially from live market conditions.

Backtested or simulated performance does not represent actual trading performance and should not be treated as a prediction or guarantee of future results.

A strategy that generated a profit in testing may generate losses when deployed with real funds.

9. No Investment, Financial or Tax Advice

Trend Hound provides software and technology tools.

It does not provide personalised investment, financial, legal or tax advice through the Service.

Nothing in the Service should be understood as a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or otherwise transact in any asset.

You are responsible for determining whether any strategy, transaction or use of the Service is suitable for you and for obtaining independent professional advice where appropriate.

10. Regulatory and Compensation Protections

Trend Hound is not presenting the Service as a deposit-taking, custody or brokerage service.

The regulatory treatment of cryptoassets and cryptoasset-related activities varies by jurisdiction and is changing over time.

You should not assume that the Service, a connected exchange, a particular cryptoasset or any associated activity is subject to the same protections that apply to regulated investments or financial services.

In particular, FSCS protection does not generally apply to direct cryptoasset investments, and access to the FOS depends on the nature of the relevant firm, activity and applicable regulatory framework.

11. You Are Responsible for Your Use of the Service

You are responsible for:

• the strategies you create or deploy;
• the parameters and risk limits you select;
• the exchanges you connect;
• confirming that you are entitled to authorise Trend Hound to access your exchange account and that doing so is permitted under that exchange's terms;
• the API permissions you grant;
• the assets and capital you expose to trading;
• monitoring your live trading activity;
• complying with applicable law;
• complying with the rules of the relevant exchanges; and
• determining whether the Service is appropriate for you.

Using automated trading software does not remove these responsibilities.

12. No Guarantee of Financial Results

Trend Hound makes no representation or guarantee that use of the Service will result in a profit or avoid a loss.

Any examples, projections, simulations, statistics or historical results shown through the Service are provided for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as an indication of what you may achieve.

13. Acknowledgement

By using Trend Hound, including by connecting an exchange account or enabling live trading functionality, you acknowledge that:

1. cryptoasset trading is high risk;

2. you may lose some or all of the funds you trade;

3. automated trading can produce rapid losses;

4. the Service is currently a BETA product and may contain defects or interruptions;

5. exchange and market-data infrastructure can fail or behave unexpectedly;

6. orders are not guaranteed to execute at any particular time or price;

7. historical, backtested and simulated performance does not guarantee future results; and

8. you remain responsible for your trading decisions, configurations and use of the Service.
